Credits: In their four years together The Surly Mermaids have made an EP, 'Things to Keep & Things Spare' (2006), and a single, 'Romantic Supervisions (2008). Songs from both records have received local and national airplay. The Surly Mermaids are currently creating their debut album with Nick Huggins (Kid Sam, Seagull, Psuche).
The Surly Mermaids write intimate electronica with an emphasis on carefully crafted songs and warm analogue production. Their creative method involves making, unmaking and re-making music; building layers of sound and then paring away; and replacing written parts with recycled sounds or new instruments.
