PIP RYAN

SAT 14 NOVEMBER - 1pm

Within my artistic practice I investigate the relationship between space, sound and sight.

This investigation generally involves a poorly constructed machine (dolly) made from materials such as discarded toys, hard rubbish items, gaffa tape and other such household objects. The camera along with the mirror is attached to the dolly and dragged through various locations creating a complex pictorial loaded frame at times hard to decipher, recording both forward and backward motion simultaneously.

I am interested in sight, the idea of the camera recording with little guidance from the controller and of the juxtaposition of combinations of fast and loud imagery.

I feel that it evokes a physical reaction within the audience by using by editing repetitive and relentless footage. This investigation will continue to expand as i am becoming increasingly interested in creating a combination of installation and screen based work
