ARTISTS
Spoonbill/Aphid
Spoonbill crafts an elegant and quirky symphony of honey-scented grooves, jovial humour and joyous beat trickery, melding an ever-evolving array of styles into a distinctive ozzie blend. Call it quirk-funk or downbeat with bite, Spoonbill takes the listener firmly by the scruff of the ear and leads them into a shady forest of rhodes, horns, and deep double bass, then back out into an eccentric wonderland of glitched-out grooves infused with AM talkback radio and rowdy bush cobbers.

Isnod/Zero Dollars

Isnod works hand in hand with the visuals of Zero Dollars (Dale Nason) - Action Video in Situation, remixing trash into morphing muppets who like the light of a photocopier. Three Month Sunset/Andrew Yardley

Contraptionist
As Contraptionist, Paul Rodgers and Brendan Palmer (bP) join forces with an eccentric approach to video and audio construction. Paul’s textured, structural moving image manipulations bounce off Brendan’s intricate sonic production methods that defy logical predictability.

mousetrapreplica / Nella Combe
mousetrapreplica presents an interactive synaesthetic journey of semi-organic electronica with live painting (Nella Combe), which utilises set compositions with improvisation, drawing inspiration from artists such as Arvo Part, Boards of Canada, Ligeti, Merzbow, The Necks, Bill Frisell, Colleen and John Zorn.
Greyscale/Cass Wigley, Paul Rigby
Greyscale is an instrumental trio whose distinct sound is based on the interaction between sampled field recordings, soaring pedal steel and droning de-tuned guitar. These elements are held together by a shared love of melody and the ability to dynamically improvise complex arrangements. Greyscale's experimentation with resonant feedback to create "sonic textures" have invited comparisons with legendary instrumental acts such as The Dirty Three, guitar bands Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, and the current out-rock or post-rock genre dominated by bands such as Mogwai, Tortoise or GSYBE.
ii /Jon Tjhia
The duo Alex Nosek and Jon Tjhia combine static, tone-play and hidden melodies with heartbeat textures and flourishes of colourful instrumental pop. Inspired by a love of sound and a fear of boredom.

Retail Fireworks
Under bustling cities lie pockets of peaceful emptiness. Tunnels, bridges and overpasses serve to divert people away from the moments of quiet that these forms themselves create. Led by Andrew Yardley (Laura), blending murmurs of beat, vocals and winding guitars, he interweaves selected field recordings captured in some of these negative spaces; juxtapositions of their above-world counterparts. Retail Fireworks redirects our focus to these places of polar opposites, caverns that seem so superfluous to the every day lives of dwellers in the commotion of the world above.
Strange Noise Sound System/David Campbell
The Strange Noise Sound System use lots of gear to create dark/ambient/kick-ass/bleepy/live/improvised A/V-scapes. The music arises from the interplay of noise v. melody, organic composition v. electronic production, visuals v. audio.
